Mona Vale
HEADLAND HOUSE
Sitting on the tip of North Mona Vale headland, this garden’s position allows for sprawling views from Palm Beach in the north to Manly in the south. An exciting opportunity to create a garden as part of a larger home construction project, this landscape was specifically designed to complement the house designed by Richard Cole Architecture and constructed by JJ Building Company.
At the heart of this unique project, the harsh, coastal conditions of the Sydney’s Northern Beaches strongly influenced the planting palette which included combinations of Australian natives, exotic tropical, and succulent plantings. Although many species were planted as part of the garden’s holistic design, there were also several key feature plantings, including Pandanus, Frangipani, Banksia, Nolina and various Agaves.
