BAY STREET GARDENS
We acknowledge the Cammeraygal people, the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which this landscape sits.
Working in conjunction with Hampton Architecture and Trend Constructions, this structured, tiered garden creates an incredible outlook from inside the house. Stone walling was used to tackle the difficult height changes of the sloping property; the textures of the stone offers visual stimulation while being subtle enough not to overpower.
The planting is on display in a reverse amphitheater with the centre stage being a spacious entertaining area complete with banquette seating, custom polished concrete BBQ and dining setting. Advance trees were sourced and craned into the garden to provide instant privacy from the neighbouring property above, while the vertical habit of the ornamental pears provide the backdrop.

The rear garden style then dramatically shifts, drawing inspiration from the existing palm trees. A subtropical planting palette was selected for the pool area. The textured trunks and harbour views provide a stunning outlook from the swimming pool. The lush under storey planting provides striking contrast against the dark limestone paving and stone walls. An indirect path to the front door leads guests through the garden with glimpses of the swimming pool along the way; providing resort style vibes. Appropriate plant selection was key to achieving a tropical style that was able to withstand Sydney's temperate climate.
