BAY STREET GARDENS
Partnering with Hampton Architecture and Trend Living, this structured, tiered garden provides a mesmerising view from the comfort of inside the house. Stone walling was used as both a striking visual element, as well as a functional tool in tackling the various elevation changes across the property. Its rugged texture and colour palette proves to be a subtle yet strong frame for the garden it contains.
Drawing the eye up as if standing centre stage in an amphitheatre, the multi-level planting provides the perfect surroundings for a spacious entertaining area on the lowest level – one that includes banquette seating, custom polished concrete BBQ, and dining setting. For extra privacy from the neighbouring property above, advanced trees were sourced and craned into the garden, while the vertical habit of ornamental pears provide a flowering backdrop.
The rear garden offers a dramatic departure from the stylistic choices of the tired garden, drawing inspiration from existing palm trees. A subtropical planting palette was selected for the pool area, with textured trunks and harbour views providing a stunning outlook from the swimming pool. The lush understory planting provides striking contrast against the dark limestone paving and stone walls. An indirect path to the front door leads guests through the garden with shimmering glimpses of the swimming pool along the way; providing resort style vibes.
