Over the past few years, we have seen a shift in the species and types of timber being used in Sydney landscapes. With people moving away from Merbau and other imports and looking in our own backyard for local timbers. Further, composites and reclaimed/recycled timbers are extremely popular. Companies like Ironwood who specialise in reclaimed, recycled and architectural timbers are changing the game when it comes to timber yards by focusing on sustainably sourced, local and recycled materials.

Australian hardwood should be celebrated, as seen in our Kenthurst Project.

Ironash is another Australian timber that we love to use. Here at our St Leonards Design Studio, we have used it to clad an existing brick wall.
